What is Acumatica Commerce Edition?
Acumatica Commerce Edition provides tools for passing data between Acumatica ERP and your eCommerce website. Right out of the box, Acumatica Commerce Edition includes integration to BigCommerce and Shopify – two very popular eCommerce platforms. In addition, Acumatica Commerce includes a set of APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) to support seamless data exchange with any other modern external commerce platform of your choice.
NOTE: Starting with Acumatica 2020 R2, Acumatica Commerce Edition is now part of the core ERP product and is no longer a separate customization project. The commerce-related functionality is available when the Commerce Integration feature is enabled in the Enable/Disable Features screen.
New Acumatica Shopify Connector
With the release of Acumatica 2020 R2, a new built-in integration with Shopify was rolled out. Powering over 1,000,000 businesses worldwide, Shopify is one of the leading eCommerce platforms on the market, helping businesses of all sizes create an online web store to manage and sell everything from physical goods and digital products to services and memberships.
The new Acumatica Shopify integration allows you to manage your back-office with Acumatica ERP while creating a powerful Shopify eCommerce webstore on the front-end. The seamless integration between the two systems synchronizes products, customers, inventory availability, sales orders and fulfillment data in real-time (or alternatively, the synchronization can be scheduled at a set time as well as initiated manually).

The Benefits of Synchronized Data
Gone are the days of manually updating inventory items, pricing, product photos, detailed descriptions, and volumes of other data in two different systems. All of the information that displays on your Shopify website on the front end is being served up from Acumatica ERP on the back end. For instance, if you update pricing in Acumatica (perhaps it’s on sale), the change flows straight to Shopify in real-time so customers can see it immediately.
In addition, the Acumatica Shopify connector works in both directions. That means when a customer purchases an item from your webstore, a sales order is automatically created in Acumatica ERP, details of the order are logged, inventory levels are updated, etc. What’s more, once the item is processed for shipping in Acumatica, the shipped status automatically flows back to Shopify so the customer knows that the order is on its way.
